About Me
Keith Stoddart - Artist & Designer

Although I am originally from the North of England, I found my heart and home in the breathtaking landscapes of Scotland, where I’ve spent the majority of my adult life.
With a robust career spanning over four decades in the design industry, I’ve worn many hats – from steering printing ventures to crafting compelling web designs, capturing moments through photography and bringing stories to life via video production.
This diverse journey has paved the way for me to embrace a newfound passion – creating art.
In one way or another, art has always been a part of my life, but now it plays a much bigger part. Welcome to my world of artistic passion, expression and where every picture tells a story.
Feel free to contact me if you’d like to know more about what I do and what I can do for you.
My Work as an Artist
My artwork is all about capturing a moment, a mood, or a memory in a way that feels personal and expressive. I work in mixed media - mainly pen, watercolour, and gouache, as well as acrylic and oil - which allows me to blend detail with softness, structure with spontaneity. I enjoy the contrast between defined lines and the looseness of flowing colour, using that balance to give each piece its own character.
I don’t aim for strict realism, but I also steer clear of extreme abstraction. My style sits somewhere in between - rooted in observation, guided by feeling. I see each piece as an expression rather than a direct copy. Whether I’m painting a landscape, a pet, a house, or a portrait, I’m always looking to bring out its essence - the qualities that make it meaningful to someone.
My work is often colourful, sometimes bold, sometimes subtle, depending on the subject and the mood. I’m drawn to stories - whether it’s the story behind a place, the personality of a pet, or the connection between people - and I try to let those stories come through in the artwork. Beauty, for me, can be found in many places - people, animals, landscapes, buildings - and I enjoy the challenge of capturing it in a way that feels honest and heartfelt.
Above all, my aim is to create something that resonates - art that feels familiar yet unique, because it’s been made with care, attention, and a bit of my own perspective woven in.
If you’re interested in a custom piece - whether it’s a portrait, a pet, a favourite place, or something more personal - I’d love to hear from you. Every commission starts with a conversation, and together we can create something meaningful, made just for you.
